During the regular meeting the commission approved multiple routine and contract items, among them:
- Expenditures report (one commissioner abstained on the expenditures vote). - Resolution 2026-29 (budget adjustments) to correct overexpended line items and increase capital cooperative agreement funding. - Proclamation for National Mental Health Awareness Month. - Letter of support for Colfax General Long Term Care to aid a grant application. - RFB 2026-01 (up to 15,000 cubic yards of gravel) and RFB 2026-02 (hauling/windrow) to support county road work. - HVAC maintenance agreements for the Judicial Center, Detention Center and Operations Building (annual contracts with listed values). - County vehicle policy and timekeeping policy (biometric time clocks scheduled to go live April 25). - Hiring approvals for a maintenance supervisor, a YES program home‑visitor/health council coordinator and advertisement to fill an assessor deputy‑clerk vacancy.
The commission also took procedural or follow‑up actions on other items: a memorandum of understanding for mutual emergency aid with Las Animas County was tabled until attorney review; a salary restructuring amendment was tabled for attorney review and will return as a consolidated resolution.
