Engineer Dean told the Safety and Public Works Committee that the city of Baxter requested Brainerd cost-share for a microsurfacing project on Delwood Drive and that Brainerd’s portion is estimated at $19,440, including 8% engineering.
The recommendation matters because the resurfacing covers the east half of the north half of the street that abuts Brainerd City limits; Baxter would cover the west half and Crow Wing would cover the south portion, Dean said. Staff said the requested split follows a cost-share agreement originally established in 2016 when the segment was constructed.
During committee questions, a member asked for the location and staff replied the segment is north of Menards and that the original Crow Wing project set the cost-share methodology. Committee members raised no alternative funding proposals.
A committee member moved to approve staff’s recommendation; the Chair seconded and members present voted to carry the motion. The committee’s approval advances the item to the next procedural step.
