At its Feb. 23 meeting the Lauderhill Community Redevelopment Agency approved three resolutions and several sets of minutes.
Roof replacement: The board authorized CRA staff to enter an agreement with A1 Property Service Group Inc. for a roof replacement at 1451 NW 31st Avenue in an amount not to exceed $103,635, because the amount exceeded the director’s $30,000 signature threshold. The resolution passed 5–0.
Asbestos abatement — Wingate Plaza: The agency approved a qualified trade contract under resolution CLA 24R0720 to allow work by Belfort Property Restoration to remove asbestos in three vacant bays at Wingate Plaza (addresses discussed include 1259–1261 NW 31st Avenue). Staff said one bay has already been abated, and that licensed contractors — not city staff — are required for the remaining removals; no tenants or staff were reported exposed. The resolution passed 5–0.
Tree trimming/removal authority: The CRA authorized piggybacking the city’s tree‑trim and removal services contract and entering into an agreement with Terrain Service Inc for an amount not to exceed $100,000. Staff said public‑works crews will be used where feasible; outside contractors will be used for situations beyond in‑house capacity. The resolution passed 5–0.
All votes were unanimous. Staff will return with project‑specific proposals, permit details and updates on which work public works will perform in‑house.
