The Greenfield Common Council on March 17 approved a two-year contract to provide the Fourth of July fireworks display at Conkle Park for 2026 and 2027.
Staff noted the contract price reflected 2026 pricing and that fireworks costs have increased since prior years; during discussion a dollar figure of $5,053,000 was referenced in comments on cost estimates. Staff said the two-year arrangement provides pricing assurance through the next budget cycle and that the vendor has produced the city's show for more than 35 years. Council members discussed logistics, crowd management and past experiences with efficient evacuation and praised the vendor's coordination with police and public works. The council approved the contract by roll call.
