Council OKs feasibility study for Ivanhoe Mill/Wheelhouse historic structure

The Paterson Municipal Council adopted Resolution No. 26146 on March 25 to award a consultant contract to Clark Caton Hint to perform a feasibility and reuse study for the Ivanhoe Mill/Wheelhouse, a historic building within the Great Falls footprint.
The consulting team will assess structural conditions, outline potential reuse scenarios (a "menu" of options), and estimate costs for restoration and adaptive reuse. The consultant said the report will present possibilities ranging from limited use to full restoration; the administration will share the report when completed and the council will decide next steps.
Council members recalled prior conversations and studies dating to 2018–2019 and asked staff to check earlier records to ensure the new study aligns with previous work. The clerk announced the vote as seven in favor and two absent, and the resolution was adopted.
Vote tally: 7 yes, 0 no, 0 abstain, 2 absent. Resolution No. 26146 was adopted.
