West Essex board approves routine motions and hears referendum committee update

The ad hoc referendum committee reported it has been meeting regularly, held a staff PD on March 9 to explain referendum details, ran a staff survey, and will post updated slides and architect renderings on the district website. The committee said an architect will present renderings at the next board meeting on March 31, an email blast and an informational video will be published, and outreach will pause over the summer with presentations resuming in September.
A student speaker used public comment to ask for increased funding for the robotics/STEM and theater clubs, saying updated parts, tools, costumes and lighting would improve student experience and participation. Board members responded with thanks and noted the request; no formal allocation was made at the meeting.
