Oscoda County board acknowledges prosecutor office resignation, approves transfers and multiple hires

The Oscoda County Board of Commissioners on July 22 acknowledged personnel changes in the prosecutor's office and approved several courthouse hires.
Prosecutor Kristi McGregor informed the board of the resignation of Lisa Moscato from the full-time legal secretary position effective July 14, 2025. The board approved transferring Kelli Carter into the Legal Secretary-Victim Advocate position with an increased wage of $21.63 per hour and allowed Carter to work up to 40 hours per week during the position's training period. The board also authorized advertising to hire a full-time, non-union Legal Secretary replacement at 35 hours per week with a starting wage of $18.00 per hour and eligibility for county benefits.
Separately, Court Administrator Tom Pratt reported the board acknowledged hiring two part-time Courthouse Security employees: Scott Woodward, starting July 14, 2025, and Jody Coon, starting July 15, 2025; both positions were approved at a starting wage of $18.00 per hour and are not eligible for county benefits. The board also acknowledged hiring Leah Blair as a non-union Youth Liaison Officer, to work up to 35 hours per week at $18.00 per hour, eligible for county benefits, with a hire date of July 21, 2025.
All motions related to these personnel actions passed by roll-call vote. The board also directed staff to proceed with recruitment steps for the vacated Legal Secretary position.
