She asked the village for a formal inspection, written violation determinations, enforcement deadlines and interdepartmental coordination among code enforcement, public works and planning and zoning.
Laurel Rugen said crews had been marking utilities and working in backyards near 513 North Grand Street without notifying neighbors; she said trucks repeatedly blocked her driveway and asked for information about the planned work. Mayor Nero and staff offered to connect both residents with the community development director or the public works director for site visits and additional details.
No formal action was taken at the meeting; staff said they would follow up with on‑site inspections and meetings with complainants.
