Behnke said Ride Calhoun fixed-route service, Ride Calhoun Move paratransit and Ride Calhoun Flex on-demand service will not operate Thursday, Nov. 27 and will resume their regular schedules Friday, Nov. 28. He also said Republic Services will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and that Thursday and Friday pickups will be delayed by one day the following week.
Behnke encouraged neighbors to attend the Battle Creek Christmas parade, which he said is the 45th annual parade hosted by the Harper Creek Optimist Club. He said participants will line up on Washington Avenue and the parade is set to begin at 5:40 p.m. from Champion Street, traveling down Michigan Avenue and West Michigan Avenue to end near the Commerce Point and Caffa Rica parking lots. Neighbors were reminded to expect event-related road closures near the lineup and route.
