District officials said the changes should allow some students to arrive home about 10 to 20 minutes earlier on average, with some families seeing savings closer to 15–20 minutes. The administration said communications will be sent to impacted families about routing changes.
Dr. O'Donnell told the board the district will not split routes before April given the limited number of school days remaining in the current year, but staff will continue planning for implementation in the next academic year.
The board heard the update during its regular public meeting and did not vote on a specific contract or route plan that evening. The superintendent also announced an executive session on personnel matters following adjournment.
