Council adopts clerical corrections to Vienna comprehensive plan

The Vienna City Council unanimously approved on second reading an ordinance amending and correcting the city's 2024 comprehensive plan to reflect clerical corrections, updated demographic data and several land-use adjustments.
Staff summarized changes including clerical fixes, updated demographic tables, additions to the future land-use map (including Spencer's Landing and a new consolidated elementary school site), transportation and community facility updates and an updated education/higher-education section. "This is an ordinance amending and correcting the 2024 City Of Vienna comprehensive plan to reflect clerical corrections, updated demographic data, land use changes ... and related matters," a staff member said when reading the measure aloud.
Councilors offered brief thanks to planning staff and the planning commission for their work on the amendments. With a motion and second on the floor, the council voted to pass the ordinance on second reading without further discussion; the motion passed unanimously.
The ordinance makes non-substantive corrections and incorporates several site-specific updates into the plan's future land-use appendices and supporting narrative. The approved changes are intended to align the comprehensive plan with recent project planning and demographic updates, and to incorporate project names used in city planning documents going forward.
The council moved on to other items; no additional public hearing on the ordinance was recorded in the meeting minutes.
