Summary
The board adopted a resolution to vacate a 20‑foot grading, drainage and utility easement in the Seascape Subdivision after petitioner David Lester said utilities had consented and no facilities occupy the easement; the motion passed 4‑0.
The Flagler County Board voted unanimously to adopt a resolution vacating a 20‑foot grading, drainage and utility easement in a cul‑de‑sac lot within the Seascape Subdivision.
Acting Growth Management Director Chuck Miranda explained the easement does not contain drainage infrastructure or utilities and that utility providers had submitted letters consenting to the vacation. Planner and staff materials indicated taxes on the lot are current. Petitioner David Lester said the easement had not been used during a prior drainage project, that he and his wife have maintained and paid taxes on the area and that removing the easement would provide flexibility to eventually relocate a septic field and create room for landscaping or a pool.
Commissioner Hansen moved to approve the vacate resolution; Commissioner Dantz seconded. With no public objections raised during comment, the board voted 4‑0 to adopt the resolution.
The resolution vacates the specified portion of the recorded plat and will be processed administratively per county practice.
