Eufaula school board accepts multiple resignations, employs career teachers; declines action on termination before accepting transportation director's later-res

The Eufaula Public Schools Board of Education on March 9 accepted a slate of employee resignations, approved employment of Career Teachers for the 2026–27 school year and addressed personnel matters involving the transportation director.

During executive session the board reviewed resignations submitted to date: Shannon Brown (kindergarten teacher), Soundra Pinner (full-time elementary substitute teacher), Karen Wright (elementary cook), Ruby Caron (elementary cook) and Brenda Underwood (elementary cook), all listed as effective June 30, 2026. After returning to open session the board accepted those resignations on a motion by Jeff Pippenger, seconded by Martha Asher; the motion carried with all five members voting yea.

The board also moved to employ the Career Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year as presented to the board; that motion, made by Jeff Pippenger and seconded by Martha Asher, carried unanimously.

Separately, the board discussed a motion and vote regarding termination of Tim Grider from his employment with the district; the transcript records that no action was taken on the discussion and vote to terminate him. Shortly afterward, in new business the board accepted the resignation of Tim Grider, identified in the agenda as the transportation director, effective April 30, 2026. The motion to accept Grider's resignation was made by Jeff Pippenger and seconded by Martha Asher and carried unanimously.
