Smithfield committee approves consent agenda, accepts Pleasant View PTO donation and OKs FY26 budget transfers

The chair opened the meeting, noted one excused absence, and read the consent agenda, which included approval of minutes from multiple meetings and executive session minutes. The chair also presented a bills summary: regular bills totaling $358,001.64, direct checks from Oct. 11–31 totaling $157,852.49, and lunch bills totaling $132,970.56. A motion to approve the consent agenda was made, seconded and passed by voice vote.
On a separate motion, committee members approved a Pleasant View PTO donation to purchase a communication board for the playground. A presenter said the donation totals $2,690 and indicated the PTO plans to order before a Jan. 1 vendor price increase. Committee member moved, the motion was seconded, and the chair called the ayes.
The committee also reviewed and approved FY26 budget line-item changes provided in members' packets. The motions to approve the donation and the budget transfers were made, seconded and approved.
Next steps: the PTO will place the order for the communication board and the district will record the donation and process the approved budget transfers and vendor payments.
