Summary
The board recognized more than a dozen students and volunteers, including Florida Prepaid scholarship winners, National Scholastic Art Award recipients, FBLA and FCCLA winners, and outstanding school volunteer honorees.
At the April 14 meeting the Pinellas County School Board recognized students and volunteers across the district. Director of Strategic Partnerships Dean Dahl introduced outstanding volunteer honorees, the board read a proclamation designating April as Volunteer Appreciation Month, and Emma Revron (Tarpon Springs Elementary) and Cindy Peacock (Palm Harbor Middle) were highlighted as honorees.
Chief Academic Officer Danica Jones announced three Florida Prepaid College Scholarship representatives from the district — Gabrielle Arduin (Boca Ciega High School), Jayla Knight (Largo High School) and Caitlin Anderson (Palm Harbor University High School) — and congratulated students who will pursue college studies. The board also named statewide and national competition winners across FBLA, National Scholastic Art Awards, the Home Depot national case challenge, and FCCLA, among others; Pinellas students captured gold and first-place awards and several students will advance to national competitions.
Board members and staff lauded students, principals and teachers for the achievements and invited families to take photos and celebrate recognition with the district.
