Greeley County board selects 2024 leadership and key appointees

At the Jan. 9, 2024 organizational session the Greeley County Board of Commissioners set leadership and key county appointments for the year. County Clerk Mindy Grossart, serving as temporary chairman for the organizational vote, asked for nominations. Commissioners elected Jordan Foltz as chairman and Joe Leslie as vice chairman; both were confirmed by unanimous roll-call votes.
The board set meeting dates for 2024 (second and fourth Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m.), designated the Cedar Valley News as the official county newspaper and declared the county website an official means of publication. The board also approved the slate of appointments: Josh Grummert as county surveyor, Lance Harter as highway superintendent, Trevor Nekoliczak as planning & zoning administrator, Mark Haschke as weed superintendent and Bill McManus as emergency manager, among others. These motions passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
Commissioners additionally approved 2024 depositories and routine administrative policies, including mileage reimbursement and deputized pay scales. The board discussed a previously tabled resolution concerning Nebraska CLASS investments and declined to approve it after debate.
