The Altoona City Council approved a bundled consent agenda that included bills, contract actions, permits and scheduling of public hearings.
Notable items in the consent agenda included Change Order #007 (Hansen Company) listed at $0.00 and Pay App #10 to The Hansen Company for the Altoona Public Works Facility in the amount of $1,587,700.05. The agenda also included approval of a professional services agreement with Snyder & Associates for required bi-annual bridge inspections; a Memorandum of Understanding for the Herd Program service-delivery partnership; an Economic Development Assistance Contract among Robinson, Inc., the City of Altoona and the Iowa Economic Development Authority; a resolution approving contract and performance/payment bonds for the Water System Improvements 2024 Well #5 and NE 80th Street WTM Project; Contract Amendment No. 001 for Water System Improvements 2024 (agenda item 10g was changed from McClure Engineering Co. to Story Construction earlier in the meeting); a furniture quote for the new Public Works building; a public hearing date set for Townsend Watershed Improvements Phase 3 (April 20, 2026); the FY2027 annual budget public hearing set for April 20, 2026; an event request for the Venardos Circus at the outlet mall (May 28–June 7, 2026); and a set of beer and liquor permit approvals (The Big Steer, Fireside Grill, Hy-Vee main store, Adult Softball at Lions Park, and Lucky Wife Wine Slushies at a June 5 Chamber event).
Council approved the consent agenda by roll call vote, 5-0.
