The Daniel Planning Commission voted March 18 to schedule a public hearing for April 15, 2026 to consider applicant Brian Myers’ revised zone-change request. Myers reduced his petition from two parcels to a single one-acre parcel (20-4491) on Highway 40, proposing to change zoning from RA-5 (residential agricultural) to Commercial. Chair Gary Weight observed that the parcel is bordered on both sides by commercial properties.
Commissioner Byron Horner moved to set the public hearing; the motion passed with the recorded votes of Commissioners Long, Jones, Taylor and Horner. The hearing will allow public comment and staff analysis before the Planning Commission makes a recommendation to the Town Council.
Next steps: staff will publish hearing notice, provide packet materials and accept public comment at the April 15 hearing before the commission considers a recommendation to Council.
