The Golden Leaf grant will total $210,000, but town staff and grant administrators approved reducing the project so it no longer connects to the underground detention basin at Burley Market. Construction funds available total $172,000. The board voted 5-0 to award the work to Carolina Grading.
The project will install storm drain piping and catch basins on Backstreet and Long Street and will be limited to work achievable with the available construction allocation; staff indicated the reduction was made to align the scope with available funds. Work will proceed under the town’s standard construction oversight and contract administration processes.
