Fayette County champion Lillian Lockhart of Oak Hill Middle School advanced to round six at regionals and tied for seventh place.
The recognition highlighted student achievement at both the county and regional levels. Miss Kane noted that Colton advanced through round four at the regional competition, which included 45 participants from 27 counties. The board offered brief congratulations and invited winners and families to stay for additional recognitions when scheduling allows.
The board moved on to the regular agenda after congratulating the students.
