Calhoun said the rezoning would align two different zoning districts on the parcel to simplify the development review process.
Board members asked whether a traffic study had been prepared; Calhoun said the team had submitted a traffic statement and that staff reviewed it as negligible. With no public speakers for that item, a board member moved to recommend approval based on the facts in the staff report and testimony heard that evening. The motion was seconded and carried with board consent.
The board’s recommendation now goes to the city commission for formal action, where the rezoning and any attached conditions would be adopted or denied.
