Beardstown — The City Council approved three Tax Increment Financing (TIF) renovation grants aimed at downtown property improvements during its June 18 meeting.
A motion by Alderperson Mary Davis, seconded by Alderperson Dawn Seward, approved a TIF Renovation Grant for 88 Bar & Grill LLC in an amount not to exceed $14,500. A motion by Alderperson Lisa Buhlig, seconded by Alderperson Eric Harbin, approved a TIF Renovation Grant for Carrie Magerl d/b/a Magerl Law Office not to exceed $7,625. A motion by Alderperson Dawn Seward, seconded by Alderperson Eric Harbin, approved a TIF Renovation Grant for First National Bank of Beardstown not to exceed $41,787.50.
Each grant was approved by a 6-0 roll call vote, with Lisa Buhlig, Ron Culves, Mary Davis, Eric Harbin, Keith Schramm and Dawn Seward voting in favor and Chris Baer and Shawn Taylor absent. The council did not record public comment on the grants during the meeting.
