Commission extends election movers, approves relocation extension and awards crushed‑stone bids

The Montgomery County Commission approved multiple procurement actions on Jan. 28, extending two existing contracts and awarding bids for crushed stone used by county engineering.
The commission approved Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 51910‑24B‑001 with Move & Store, LLC dba Admiral Movers to extend services for delivery, setup and retrieval of election equipment through Jan. 1, 2026. The amendment increases the price per precinct by five percent from $290.00 to $304.50, as allowed under the contract. The amendment packet notes coordination with Director of Elections Alexandria Stephens.
Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 51901‑24B‑002 with Armstrong Relocation to provide moving and storage services was also approved to extend the contract until Jan. 1, 2026; the extension allows a five percent price increase and preserves all other contract terms.
On procurement awards, the commission approved the recommendation from the Purchasing Department and County Engineering to award Invitation to Bid No. 53000‑25B‑006. Stephens Trucking, Inc. was awarded item nos. 3, 5 and 7–13; Little River Materials was awarded item nos. 1 and 6. The contracts begin Jan. 21, 2025 and run through Jan. 20, 2026, with an option to renew for up to two additional years in one‑year increments and a cap on yearly price increases not to exceed 5%.
All motions were approved unanimously. County staff noted standard indemnity, termination and dispute‑resolution provisions in the contracts and that contracts include compliance statements regarding federal immigration law.
