Council approves two-year extension of natural gas aggregation contract with IGS Energy

Euclid City Council on Nov. 17 approved a resolution authorizing the mayor or designee to execute a two-year amendment to the city's natural gas aggregation supply agreement with IGS Energy.
Administration and the city's independent energy consultants said they invited eligible providers to submit proposals and received competitive price offers; consultants recommended continuing with the city's current supplier, IGS Energy. The new term would begin with the April meter read.
Councilman Wotilla asked whether NOPEC was among eligible suppliers; administration clarified that NOPEC functions as an aggregator rather than a supplier and that the city's aggregated rates have typically been more favorable than NOPEC's for the community.
The resolution (Resolution 114-25) was approved by roll call with council members recorded as voting yes.
Administration said the decision followed a standard procurement review and was intended to maintain stable supply and pricing for residents participating in the aggregation program.
