Summary
Adam presented a WIOA performance snapshot showing the program near the 75th percentile, announced two RFPs (youth and adult/dislocated worker) with nine respondents to the youth RFP, reported 279 kiosk sessions last month, and the committee placed reports on file.
Adam (speaker S2) presented the Office of Community Reinvestment and Workforce Development’s monthly update to the Kane County Jobs Committee on April 17, saying WIOA performance is on track and that staff released several requests for proposals to expand youth and adult services.
Adam told the committee the program is operating near the 75th percentile for WIOA performance metrics and that the youth in‑school/out‑of‑school RFP closed with nine respondents. An adult and dislocated worker RFP remains open with a deadline next Friday. "We are kind of right where we need to be with our performance metrics," he said.
Staff also summarized corrective actions tied to a fiscal matter with an employer partner (Center Tool) that remains outstanding pending a final evaluation from DCEO; Adam said once that evaluation is complete, corrective action items identified by DCEO will be resolved.
A usage report for career kiosks showed 279 sessions across 14 deployed kiosks last month, totaling 21 hours and 35 minutes of use (average session about six minutes); one kiosk remains to be deployed. Committee members suggested placing additional kiosks in community libraries and asked staff to follow up.
The committee approved an annual resolution designating a purchase card in the name of Mary Apasian, assistant director, via roll call. By unanimous consent the committee then placed the reports on file and adjourned.
Next step: staff will evaluate RFP responses, deploy remaining kiosks as feasible and complete follow‑ups on the outstanding DCEO item.
