At its meeting the Bremen Public Schools board accepted multiple donations from community members and organizations and approved an updated employee handbook.
The chair (Chair (S2)) presented a list of gifts the board approved in a single vote: PTO $1,241.65; Mark and Diana Lotteman $1,600 for a track tent; an anonymous $500 for a track tent; Alfredo Alvarado gave $500 to the baseball fund and $1,000 to the high school art club; an in‑memory gift of $5,000 to the Bremen High School Athletic Department; Bremen Partnership for Education provided $835.32 for books; PTO donated $3,000 for a playground; and an additional $500 for the middle school art show. The board approved the donations by voice vote; the transcript does not show roll‑call tallies.
The board also approved an updated Bremen Public Schools employee handbook after staff noted two policies required updates and other language changes were made to reflect current practice. A board member (S3) said the handbook had not been updated in several years and that some removed items were relocated elsewhere.
Administrators confirmed graduation will take place May 22 with beginning activities at 6:00 p.m. and the ceremony at 7:00 p.m. The board set a strategic planning session and the next regular session for May 13 (strategic planning at 4:30 p.m., regular session at 6:30 p.m., both at the Administration Office). The chair adjourned the meeting after the business was completed.
