Gosper County reports Elk Creek Bridge replacement, road closures and OKs engineering contract

The board’s minutes say the Gosper–Furnas County line Rd 426 (between Rd 425 and east of Highway 283) will be closed until further notice during construction.
The board approved an Agreement for Professional Services from Oak Creek Engineering, LLC for a Lake Access Road grading project. Chair Terry G. Lerdall moved for approval; Glenn Hofman seconded and the motion carried on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Ben Martin raised drainage issues on Road 424 Drive A and Road 741; the minutes note the county will add a culvert and drop tube to improve drainage. The board also approved two permit applications submitted by Mark Dannehl to construct on county road right-of-way.
The minutes record routine approvals for reports and permits but do not specify contract values, funding sources or detour plans for the Elk Creek Bridge project. Completion is listed as June 30, 2026 in the highway superintendent’s update.
