The group proposed additional permanent improvements such as acoustic wall treatments and grand stage drapery. The presenters said current youth performing groups already use the space for rehearsals and that upgrades would expand programming and improve accessibility.
Meeting discussion touched on the auditorium’s emergency exits and what should be done with existing instruments, including a grand piano and an old organ. The initial DPAC proposal has been forwarded to the city attorney for review; City Manager Jason Brown said he will finalize terms after attorney and staff concerns are addressed.
No formal vote was taken at the meeting; councilmembers and staff requested additional review and legal vetting before any agreement is executed.
