The Manti City Council met April 1, 2026, at the Manti City Building and unanimously approved the minutes from its March 4 meeting. Mayor Mary Wintch opened the session, confirmed attendance and asked for conflict‑of‑interest disclosures; none were reported.
City Manager Jason Brown updated the council on several ongoing items, including administrative work on moratoria for short‑term rentals and annexation/subdivision and a cemetery ordinance currently on hold while staff work through headstone logistics. Brown also said the planning commission’s recommendations on accessory dwelling units (ADUs) will be the subject of a public hearing on April 15, 2026, to collect public comment on ordinance wording.
The council discussed drought concerns and public‑safety implications of personal fireworks tied to upcoming America 250 celebrations. Manager Brown relayed the fire chief’s warning that increased residential use of culinary water for irrigation could reduce hydrant pressure; the state, he said, may also impose fireworks restrictions if wildfire risk rises. Brown also noted Sunrise Engineering completed a final design review of the city’s water treatment plant.
