Resident asks about AI data centers; commissioners say only Bruce Mansfield 1 is active

A commissioner responded that, to their knowledge, only one site—"Bruce Mansfield 1"—is active and in development and that permitting for that conversion is ongoing. "There's only 1 that I know that's active and ongoing with the development. That's Bruce Mansfield 1," the commissioner said. The commissioner added that licensing or approval for data centers is not handled at the county level and that turning the Brownfield site into a data center is a work in progress.
The exchange underscored lingering public curiosity about large tech projects and local oversight; the commissioner said the county has reviewed data centers regionally and locally but noted that those processes can take time.
