Summary
The board recognized several retirements, approved personnel moves and hires across buildings, authorized summer school staffing, approved a June basketball overnight trip, and cleared multiple building-use requests including a summer theater production and Girl Scouts recruitment.
At its April 14 meeting the Tell City-Troy Twp School board recognized several long-serving employees who are retiring and approved a range of routine personnel and program items.
Board members acknowledged retirees including Nikki Freeman and Dana Simmersheim; the board then approved consent-agenda items and recommended personnel actions for William Tell (homebound instructor Deanne Anson, transfer of Jennifer Blackgrove to special education) and Chelsea Junior-Senior High hires including a full-time special-education teacher and multiple athletics recommendations. The hires and personnel moves carried by roll call or voice vote (motions recorded as carrying unanimously where noted).
The board also approved summer school teacher assignments and support staff, and authorized an overnight basketball trip June 11–14 funded by parents and booster clubs (about 20 student participants). The board granted building-use permissions for a Quality of Life Schweitzer Festival event, the Mattel City Regional Arts production of Shrek (June 1–Aug 2) with COI provided, and a May 8 Girl Scouts recruitment activity at William Tell (parental consent required).
Board members confirmed background checks were on file for recommended hires and asked administration to post open positions created by transfers.
