Pay application: The board approved pay application No. 4 to Mott's Group LLC in the amount of $45,955.40 for the Highlands Athletic Complex at Tower Park. District staff described the construction as nearing completion and said retainage and final pavement work may follow; the motion was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.
Employee wellness: The board approved an initiative to pay registration for district employees who participate in the 2026 YMCA Firecracker 5K (the district estimates 50–80 staff may take part). David Russell moved the wellness motion and Jeff Beach seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
Banking services: Following a three-year request for proposals, staff recommended continuing with the incumbent WesBanco; the board awarded banking services to WesBanco by voice vote after discussion that bids in recent cycles had been limited.
Calendar amendments: The board approved amendments to the 2025–26 calendar to show no school on May 19, 2026, and to the 2026–27 calendar (start date moved to Aug. 18, 2026; February close date changed to Feb. 15, 2027; last student day set to May 26, 2027; and preschool to begin Sept. 8, 2026 with two transition days). Board members discussed maintaining 177 instructional days and avoiding NTI (non-traditional instruction) as a substitute for classroom time.
