Lucas council authorizes purchase of 215 Country Club Road near fire station

Staff told the council the property sits just north of the fire station and was previously discussed with the landowners; after a December kitchen fire the owners expressed renewed interest in selling and staff negotiated a contract. The property is being acquired for future municipal services and to provide contiguous land near the existing fire station.
A motion to approve the purchase and encumber funds to account 11-899-100 (Capital Outlay—Land) passed unanimously with multiple council seconds.
Council did not provide details of any immediate planned use beyond general municipal services, and staff will return with closing documents and any related implementation steps.
The council also unanimously approved related board promotions and appointments to the Parks & Open Spaces Board during the meeting.
