Council approved a budget amendment transferring $36,172.20 from unrestricted reserves to fund renovations at City Hall that will create a secure front entrance, expand and combine utility billing and court clerk office space and install security glass, buzzer access and fire‑rated furniture.
Development Services Director Joe Hilburn summarized the scope: removal of a door and wall to create combined office space, security glass in place of plexiglass, a keycard/buzzer system, pass‑through windows and locking hardware. Council asked about electronic data preservation for court records; staff confirmed existing cloud backup and standard fire‑safe storage for physical files.
Council approved the amendment unanimously and noted continued oversight of expenditures and integration with broader city security and public access needs.
