County Administrator Hank Solowiej told the Erie County Commissioners on April 1 that Newsweek has named The Meadows at Osborn Park among "America’s Best Nursing Homes for 2026." The announcement, made at the regular session at the Services Center, cited performance data on staffing, quality measures and health inspections, professional reputation and accreditations, and resident satisfaction as the factors used for the ranking.
The commissioners publicly congratulated the facility’s staff and singled out Bob Dennie and Donna Patrick for special commendation. The Board proposed sponsoring a staff appreciation lunch to recognize the achievement.
Separately during the meeting the Board approved a Revised Auditor’s Certificate adding $30,000 for Med1Care to provide staffing support services for The Meadows at Osborn Park. Hank Solowiej presented that funding change as part of the session’s consent items.
The recognition and the staffing approval were presented as administrative matters and drew no separate public debate. The Board adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
