At the July 16 Beardstown City Council meeting, the council approved the consent agenda and accepted routine reports submitted by the city clerk, treasurer and ambulance services.
A motion by Alderperson Eric Harbin, seconded by Alderperson Chris Baer, approved and filed the routine reports by omnibus vote under the Omnibus Vote Designation; the roll-call vote was unanimous. Separately, the minutes of the July 2, 2024 meeting were approved after a motion by Alderperson Eric Harbin and a second from Alderperson Dawn Seward.
City Clerk Brian Ruch presented financial figures for June 2024, reporting cash receipts of $1,585,191.80 and cash disbursements of $1,244,759.64; year-to-date figures for May 1–April also appeared in the packet. The City Treasurer reported combined checking and fund balances including General Fund $3,093,804.79 and Special Revenue Funds $3,460,232.00.
Ambulance reports were filed for Beardstown and Virginia: Beardstown reported 59 total calls in June and collections of $36,060.05; Virginia reported 36 calls in June and collections of $18,663.66. No public comments were recorded on the reports.
