The Beardstown City Council on July 16 approved a construction contract and a Motor Fuel Tax resolution to advance the 15th Street/Sangamon Street roadway project.
Alderperson Chris Baer moved, and Alderperson Keith Schramm seconded, that the city accept the bid of $157,736.59 from Illinois Valley Paving, a division of UCM, Inc., for the 15th Street/Sangamon Street Project. The motion passed by a 7–0 roll-call vote.
Separately, Alderperson Dawn Seward moved, and Alderperson Eric Harbin seconded, a resolution titled “Resolution for Improvement Under the Highway Code in the amount of $170,000.00 for the 15th Street/Sangamon Street Project.” That resolution also passed by a 7–0 roll-call vote. The resolution authorizes use of Motor Fuel Tax funds, under the Highway Code, toward the project.
