The Lamar County Board of Education on June 9 voted to rescind advertising for bids on a chiller at Oak Grove High School and to have MP Design Group take over specifications and the bidding process. The motion to rescind advertising passed unanimously; a separate motion to authorize MP Design Group for the specification/bidding process also passed unanimously.
The board then approved a contract with MP Design Group for design and construction administration of OGHS HVAC repairs. The meeting packet included an AIA B101–2017 agreement that names Lamar County School District (Owner representative Wesley Quick) and MP Design Group (architect representative Brad Patano) and sets competitive public bidding as the intended procurement method. The AIA form details scope, insurance limits, and other standard architect responsibilities.
Board members emphasized completing the specifications and moving the project toward competitive procurement. Votes on the chiller-related items were unanimous.
