Jumper provided three headline figures during the presentation: she said the overall budget is "about $2,324,000,000," that the general fund is "just over $13,000,000," and that roughly 60% of general fund revenues come from property-tax revenue. She directed members to the online budget book for details and said the auditors will visit before Thanksgiving with a council presentation typically scheduled in February or March. Staff encouraged members to request follow-up presentations or one-on-one explanations if they want to explore specific budget topics in depth.
Members asked clarifying questions about which departments the general fund covers and whether copies of the budget would be made available; Jumper confirmed the budget is online and that printed copies are available in the city office.
