Ferron — The Ferron City Council on March 11 approved three procurement items: awarding the 2026 sidewalk installation and replacement contract to Mike Riley, accepting a bid from Precision Concrete Cutting to remove sidewalk trip hazards, and renewing cloud support for four Traffic Logix speed-display signs.
For the 2026 Sidewalk Installation & Replacement Project, Councilmember Ray Petersen reported two contractors inspected the site. The apparent winner was Mike Riley with a bid of $77,345.80; Councilmember Vance Brown moved to accept the bid, Gerry Stotler seconded, and the motion carried on a unanimous roll call.
Council also approved Precision Concrete Cutting’s trip-hazard removal bid at $9,876.90 after a report and recommendation from Councilmember Petersen. Councilmember Mike Behling moved to accept that bid; Gerry Stotler seconded and the motion carried.
The council approved a two‑year renewal of Traffic Logix cloud support for $2,650 to collect speed data from four radar signs. Mayor Trent Jackson said the data has shown a reduction in average speeds and Jeremy Lake advised the information would be useful to sheriff patrol; Councilmember Gerry Stotler moved to renew the subscription, and Councilmember Ray Petersen seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
