Superintendent reports $75,000 booster fundraising haul and multiple schools recognized by the state

The superintendent reported Quincy boosters raised more than $75,000 at a recent auction for athletics and said Ancient Lakes Elementary, Mountain View Elementary and QIA were recognized as schools of distinction by the State Board of Education; an audit exit meeting was also announced.
In his superintendent report, district leadership thanked booster volunteers and announced that the recent booster auction raised over $75,000 for Quincy athletics. "They raised over $75,000 that evening for Quincy Athletics," the superintendent said, adding the event drew about 180 attendees.
The superintendent also reported that Ancient Lakes Elementary and Mountain View Elementary were recognized as schools of distinction by the State Board of Education and that QIA received recognition as well—the first such distinction in that school's history. He thanked staff and leaders for the accomplishment and noted the district is continuing work on inclusive special‑education practices.
An audit exit meeting was announced and will be available by Zoom; board members were asked to notify staff if more than three plan to attend so a special meeting notice can be posted. The superintendent also previewed a district 'communicator' publication that will feature district special education practices, K–5 robotics, and work with AI.
The board acknowledged the superintendent's report and moved on to policy review and other agenda items.
