Committee approves moving encampment reporting rules into Health & Sanitation chapter

Chowdhury said staff and attorney Amy Schutt updated the ordinance language to add a clearer definition of “non‑shelter placement,” defining it as a temporary indoor placement including hospital detox or mental‑health holds so reporting is consistent across the department. Chowdhury said regulatory services has produced quarterly reports since enactment, including cost, notification and numbers of affected individuals.
With no public testimony, the committee moved the item with the recommendation and carried the motion by voice vote.
