Wayne County public health to share sanitarian with Clarke County; nursing clinics to stop free clinical services

Chair Chris Moore reported to the Wayne County Board of Supervisors on March 17 that the county's public health board voted or agreed to a staffing arrangement in which Sanitarian David Rhodes will be shared with Clarke County starting March 2; the arrangement is to be reevaluated after six months.
Moore also told the board that Wayne County Public Health Nursing will discontinue offering free clinical services because the program lacks sufficient medical providers to continue those services. Moore delivered both updates as part of his supervisor meeting reports.
The board did not take immediate follow-up action at the March 17 meeting. The staffing-sharing decision and the suspension of free clinical services may affect how public health services are scheduled or delivered in Wayne County; the board said the public health board and staff will monitor the arrangement and report back at future meetings.
