The board accepted donations to support school programs and extracurriculars and approved routine agenda items.
Donations presented and approved included: Kiwanis Club of Cloverdale ($200 to the Cloverdale High School football program and $500 to the Cloverdale High School class of 2026), See's Candy Shops ($315 to the Cloverdale High School class of 2026), and the Blackbaud Giving Fund via PG&E ($40 to Cloverdale High School). The board voted to accept the donations after a motion and second.
On a separate procedural item, trustees nominated and approved Shelby Moller as the district's California School Boards Association delegate for Subregion 3A.
On a capital project item, the board considered selection of a lease-leaseback contractor for the Jefferson UTK early-education facilities site-work. Staff reported the building contract had been addressed previously and this action covered site work only; the district's procurement panel recommended Right Construction as the contractor. Trustees approved the resolution selecting the contractor and authorized staff to proceed preparing contract language.
Staff and trustees discussed whether to begin on-site work before state funding is disbursed. Staff noted OPSC requirements typically require at least 90% of project value under contract before state release; district staff said they believed the district would meet the threshold once guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and schedule-of-values were finalized and would return to the board with the GMP and contract details. Trustees generally supported moving forward to stay on schedule but requested staff return with the GMP and final contract language.
Next steps: staff to finalize GMP and schedule-of-values, bring contract documents back to the board for ratification and continue coordination with state funding authorities.
