Commission approves Harre rezoning for service station near Hwy 41

At its Sept. 19, 2016 meeting the commission held a public hearing on a zoning-change request filed by Kenny Harre to rezone a tract in the SESE ¼ of Section 2, Township 6 North, Range 1 West from AG‑2 (Agricultural) to C‑2 (Commercial Highway) for a proposed service station at the northwest corner of County Road 24 and Highway 41. Harre told the commission he had purchased more than three acres, was pursuing a driveway permit from the State of Nebraska and planned to connect to city water; sewage arrangements remained undecided in the minutes.
After the public hearing the commission approved the rezoning (vote recorded 6–0). The minutes note no opposing votes were recorded and that standard coordination with state highway permitting and utility hookups would continue.
