Schertz‑Cibolo‑Universal City ISD Superintendent Paige Maloney told the council that the district proposes three propositions covering general facilities, stadium improvements, and devices/technology, and encouraged residents to attend tours and information sessions ahead of early voting.
Schertz‑Cibolo‑Universal City ISD Superintendent Paige Maloney presented the district's three‑proposition bond plan to the Cibolo council and audience on April 14. "We've called the bond for 2026 for the Schertz‑Cibolo‑Universal City Independent School District," Maloney said, describing Prop A (general facilities, safety and systems replacement), Prop B (stadium improvements including capacity and concession/sound upgrades), and Prop C (devices for students).
Maloney said a 75‑member community advisory committee vetted needs and that the district’s average building age is 26 years. "The ballot language says this is a tax increase. We don't anticipate a tax rate increase in 2627," she said, adding that homestead exemptions enacted by the state limit impacts for many homeowners. Maloney urged residents to review the district website for project lists and cost estimates and to attend campus tours and two upcoming town halls (April 21 at Steele and April 22 at Clemens).
Councilmembers who served on the advisory committee described touring facilities and said the bond addresses repairs that will be more expensive if deferred. Council encouraged constituents to attend the district's information sessions to understand the scope and necessity of projects.
