Oscoda County board acknowledges EMS resignation, hires court clerk and approves temporary pay for prosecutor

At its Oct. 28 meeting the Oscoda County Board of Commissioners handled several personnel matters.
The board acknowledged the resignation of Dillan Romstadt from a contingent EMT position effective Oct. 20, 2025, as presented by EMS Director Robert Stankiewicz (motion 2025-310). The motion was recorded as carried 5-0.
The board approved the hiring of Katrina Smyth as a part-time temporary non-union District Court clerk, not exceeding 28 hours per week at a starting wage of $16.00 per hour; the hire is not eligible for county benefits (motion 2025-311). The action amends the budget and passed on a 5-0 vote.
The board also approved a temporary compensation increase of $700 per week for Prosecuting Attorney Kristi McGregor beginning Nov. 2, 2025 and continuing through Dec. 31, 2025 or until an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney is hired (motion 2025-316). The vote was unanimous.
