Summary
Levan’s town council on Thursday adopted the International Wildland‑Urban Interface Code (2024) and voted to migrate the town’s municipal code hosting to CivicLink, citing state requirements and lower annual costs and noting a $1,000 implementation fee may apply.
Levan’s town council voted Thursday to adopt the International Wildland‑Urban Interface Code (2024), updating a code the council previously had in a 2006 version, and approved moving the town’s online municipal code to CivicLink.
Shay, the consultant who briefed the council, told members the state legislature required adoption of the 2024 WUI code. “The ordinance is the same as the one you previously adopted outside of the number on code being switched from 2006 to 2024,” Shay said. She also described CivicLink as a lower‑cost option for hosting the town’s municipal code, saying, “The CivicLink pricing is $500 a year, and it’s $1,000 implementation fee to move everything over, or you can have staff or myself do it at no cost.”
Council members said CivicLink offers a more user‑friendly interface and local support. A council member noted that the town’s current provider (identified in the packet as the muni code host) costs $2,144.69 per year and has been difficult for staff to access and update; the council voted to authorize the platform change.
On the code adoption, a council member moved to adopt ordinance number 04092026‑001, the International Wildland‑Urban Interface Code (2024). The motion passed by voice vote.
The CivicLink decision included direction that staff prepare the migration and notice the change; Shay offered to assist with implementation and training if the council chose that path. The council did not set an immediate implementation date; staff will return with timing and procedural steps.
What happens next: the ordinance is recorded as adopted by voice vote, and staff will follow up on CivicLink migration logistics and any required public notices.
