The Equal Opportunity to Review Commission approved a repaving/resurfacing contract after staff and contractors discussed contractor roles and minority and women‑owned business participation.
Velati Landscape representative Vida confirmed her company is the prime contractor and that R & R Trucking will perform the bulk of asphalt and trucking work. Vida said the form submitted with the bid showed R & R as a 46.2% minority portion and Velati as a 27.1% woman‑owned portion; procurement staff and a project contact identified line‑item/unit‑price formatting errors in the packet that created confusion about the percentage shares.
A project contact read the packet total aloud as "$282,049.09" and said staff would reconcile cubic‑yard unit pricing and provide an accurate minority/WBE percentage breakdown after calculating the final quantities. Commissioners asked whether updated participation figures would return to the committee; staff said they would provide the corrected breakdown in follow‑up and that no additional commission vote would be required solely to report a subcontractor percentage update.
After discussion, the commission moved, seconded and approved the plan as presented. Staff said they would send the corrected participation percentages into the procurement tracking system and notify the commission when updated.
The approval permits the contract award to proceed under the terms presented in the packet, subject to the clarified subcontractor breakdown to be provided by staff.
