Beardstown — The Beardstown City Council on Aug. 6 approved a pair of routine items: the purchase of a brush chipper for the Public Works Department and a donation to the Fall Fun Festival Committee.
A motion by Chris Baer, seconded by Dawn Seward, authorized the purchase of a brush chipper at a cost of $85,817.22 for the Public Works Department; the motion passed by roll call vote 8–0. The meeting record lists the item as "Brush Chipper" and shows the amount approved.
